CRAIG ASHTON

My initial introduction to sculpture was through an Associate Degree in Furniture. Undertaking this degree sparked an interest in elements of design and its relationship to the human figure, and a later degree in the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts enabled me to refine ideas related to anthropomorphism and furniture design. I now work as a full time designer/ sculptor undertaking furniture commissions and individual speculative sculptures that continue to explore my passion for form using a variety of mediums including composite woods, epoxy resins, metal casting, plaster and paint.
